Ignition Coil

An ignition coil is the central part of an automotive ignition system which transforms the battery's 12 volts to the 30.000 volts needed to spark the spark plugs. The coil is essentially a transformer that is controlled by an electronic system or module, which switches the coil on and off. Every time the primary current of the coil is turned off, the coil will produce a high voltage at the secondary winding. This high voltage will be transported by the spark Plug cables to the spark plugs and will generate a spark at the spark plug gap.

BBT offers a large variety of ignition coils for cars from Germany, Europe and Asia. All our ignitions coils will be tested in our own ignition test facility before they are sold.
